Bauhuas School
Weimar, Germany

Architcture (2016)

The proposal is for a new Architecture School to sit directly across from the famous Van de Velde Building at Weimar Bauhaus University.

This project investigated ideas into architectural pedagogy and questioned the assumption that 'the more time spent working at a desk the better the outcome'.

The ever-growing amalgamation of space means that soon the desk will become the home and we will never need to leave the seat again. All activities will be performed within the narrow perimeter of the desk. The spatial configuration of the school has sought to divided activities between three separate buildings, forcing a separation of tasks and making space for reflection and thinking.
